I am from Tianjin and graduated from a university with a focus on software. After working as a programmer for about two years in an IT company, I discovered a website selling seals during my browsing. This sparked an idea that there might be a business opportunity if I could bring innovation to the manufacturing and sales processes. Consequently, I founded "Hanko Premium Co., Ltd."

Initially, it was challenging to enter the Japanese seal industry due to its strong traditional roots and the difficulty of working with trading companies as a newcomer. After several years of trial and error, I realized that relying on trading companies was not effective and shifted to focusing on direct sales to end-users through our website. Through persistent effort, we established ourselves as a leading online seal retailer.

With the rise of teleworking during the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a re-evaluation of Japan’s "hanko culture," leading to concerns that the demand for seals might decrease in the future. To address this, our company has ventured into new areas, such as e-commerce for furniture and curtains, anticipating the demand for products related to telework.

Although we have primarily operated online until now, we opened our first physical store for curtains and furniture in April 2021. This move allows us to interact directly with customers, gather feedback that isn’t possible online, and use it to enhance our products and services. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to embracing new opportunities and continuing our positive endeavors.
